Wisconsin Hunt Could Be Illegal

Wisconsin's first dove hunt is scheduled to move forward by the Department of Natural Resources on September 1st 2003...even though the state Supreme Court has yet to decide if the DNR has the authority to change the status of protected non-game species to game in order to establish the first shooting season.

This battle continues to bounce around the court system due to out-of-state extremists continually fighting the citizens of the state to take the dove. Proponents of the hunt arrogantly proclaim they will force the general public to "put up their money if they want to stop us from offensively advancing our expanded movement."

The mourning dove is Wisconsin's official symbol of peace. An illegal hunt will cause irreparable harm to property held in trust for the people of the state of Wisconsin.

Is Wisconsin really the 39th state to "legally" allow a shooting season? That remains to be decided!

Groups Charge that the Hunt is Cruel, May be Illegal.
